Overheating at cruise revs
On a well-used marine Scania this commonly traces back to a worn raw-water impeller, a fouled heat-exchanger core or scale building up in the cooling circuit. We test the complete cooling system and service whatever is actually restricting flow.
Black smoke and sluggish under load
Usually a sign of restricted air supply, a fouled charge-air cooler, a tired turbocharger or simply an overloaded propeller. We work out which one it is and fix the real cause rather than guessing at parts.
Raw-water pump leaks or impeller debris
A weeping pump seal, salt trails on the housing or rubber vane fragments in the strainer are known service items on any seawater-cooled diesel, Scania included — and far cheaper to fix than the overheat they lead to. We renew impellers and overhaul or replace pumps as routine work.
Intermittent alarms and sensor gremlins
The marine environment is hard on connectors, looms and sensors, and intermittent alarms or odd gauge readings often trace back to corrosion or chafed wiring rather than the engine itself. We fault-find harness and sensor issues to the root cause so they stay fixed.
