Where to Find Your Volvo Penta Serial Number
Engine Block Location
On the Engine Block
Most commonly found on a metal plate attached to the engine block, usually on the port (left) side.
Sterndrive Location
On the Sterndrive
For sterndrive units, check the upper gear housing or transom bracket for the identification plate.
Valve Cover Location
Near the Valve Cover
Some models have the plate near the valve cover or on the engine's starboard (right) side.
Example Serial Number Format: 2204123456 or D4-300A-EF
The serial number is typically 10 digits or a combination of letters and numbers.
